Festivals and local produce: municipalities access Toscana diffusa funding through food districts

The 2025 scheme supports promotion of rural areas; applications closed on 6 June.

Food festivals feature in regional policies for rural areas, but the contribution does not amount to indiscriminate support for any event. The Tuscany Region page updated on 16 August describes the 2025 Toscana diffusa call for agricultural and agri-food promotion, approved by decree on 17 April and published in the official regional bulletin on 23 April. Eligible activities include product celebrations, food festivals, meetings with businesses and educational workshops. Beneficiaries are municipalities within Toscana diffusa; applications go through the proposing bodies specified by the call, starting with food districts. The deadline was 1pm on 6 June 2025. The procedure therefore links councils with local production networks, requiring initiatives consistent with public-interest functions. This is an archived measure: the document does not prove that every festival listed in event calendars received funding, or indicate an application window that remains open.
