Council employees: preliminary agreement on pay and welfare for 2026

New salary increments are planned for 150 workers, alongside a €200,000 welfare fund.

Negotiations for Siena council’s non-managerial employees reached a preliminary agreement. The administration reports that discussions on 21 October between the employer side, workplace representatives and trade unions settled the economic agreement for 2026. The text provides new salary increments for 150 employees, effective from 1 January, and additional performance-related resources. A flexible welfare plan with a €200,000 fund is among the new measures. The statement of 23 October explicitly describes a preliminary agreement: the negotiating outcome must therefore be distinguished from completion of all subsequent contractual requirements.
