Former Gkn site: Marras defends consortium plan as Tomasi challenges costs and approach
The council debate concerns production space and Campi Bisenzio council’s role.
The future of the former Gkn site in Campi Bisenzio returned to the Regional Council through a question from Alessandro Tomasi. Regional minister Leonardo Marras defended the consortium plan, identifying at least 5,000 square metres for industrial initiatives and 1,000 for a technology and training hub. He referred to the council’s involvement and discussions with the owner. Tomasi of Fratelli d’Italia challenged costs, appointments and planning constraints, arguing that the consortium obstructs rather than supports reindustrialisation. The record therefore documents a political disagreement over the instruments adopted; the spaces described are provisions in the plan, rather than industrial businesses already established there.
