Belfiore: €75 million for people mover, with fares questioned in council

Boni reports on costs and Rfi’s programme. Cellai asks what passengers will pay.

The connection between the future Belfiore high-speed station and Santa Maria Novella has returned to the regional debate. Answering Jacopo Cellai of Fratelli d’Italia, regional minister Filippo Boni put the cost of the people mover at €75 million and the Circondaria stop at €60 million. According to his statement in the chamber, the contractor’s programme envisages completion in May 2029. Boni recalled Rfi’s responsibilities for the national infrastructure project and the Region’s monitoring role. Cellai criticised the lack of clarification about the cost to users and the alternatives considered.
