Un Mare Senza Barriere: summer service confirmed and expanded

Free assisted snorkelling and swimming, by appointment, at the former Colonia Marina.

Follonica council confirmed Un Mare Senza Barriere for summer 2026, delivered by the local branch of Società Nazionale Salvamento on the beach in front of the former Colonia Marina. Alongside assisted snorkelling for people with disabilities, the announced services include help entering the water, assisted swimming and activities with flotation aids. The service is free and requires booking. Social services councillor Sandro Marrini links it to accessibility and families’ requests. The announced period runs from mid-June to mid-September, with trained staff and dedicated protocols. This is an archive report on the summer 2026 programme; the source does not already announce arrangements for the following season.
