Campo Cangino: site visit to €140,000 sewage treatment works

The council and Fiora review work on the sludge treatment section.

Follonica mayor Matteo Buoncristiani and councillor Sandro Marrini visited the Campo Cangino sewage treatment plant with senior representatives of Acquedotto del Fiora. The statement describes estimated investment of €140,000 in aerobic sludge digestion. Plans include replacing the cover with an aluminium structure, installing valves connected to remote monitoring and introducing a new air diffusion system. The administration links discussions with the operator to odour emissions and residents’ quality of life. The stated objectives are to improve treatment, maintenance and monitoring. The source publishes no measurements demonstrating that odours have been completely eliminated following the work.
