Lagoon appointments should reflect expertise, says Limatola

The provincial president intervenes ahead of the management consortium becoming operational.

Ahead of the Orbetello lagoon consortium becoming operational, Francesco Limatola calls for appointments based on experience and expertise. The president notes that the province joined the new body with a financial commitment despite having no direct responsibility for lagoon management. He also announces his intention to nominate an academic to its scientific committee. The appeal also addresses the environment ministry, which is to appoint the sole administrator under the planned process. These are political priorities expressed by the president through the provincial website. The statement neither certifies improved environmental conditions nor anticipates the ministry’s appointment.
