Province begins its first wider-area strategic plan

The council approves guidelines for shared planning across local communities.

Grosseto provincial council has approved guidelines for preparing its first wider-area strategic plan. The province explains that this is voluntary: provincial authorities are not subject to the obligation applying to metropolitan cities. The announced process will involve municipalities, businesses, unions, associations and residents, with academic input from the University of Pisa and Grosseto’s university centre. President Francesco Limatola aims to strengthen coordination between the province’s twenty-eight communities and define long-term priorities. The decision launches work and consultation. It does not present a final plan or a list of works already funded under the new strategy.
