Limatola elected UPI Toscana president, with provincial reform on the agenda

The regional assembly renews debate about authorities’ responsibilities and resources.

Francesco Limatola, president of Grosseto province, has been elected president of UPI Toscana by the assembly meeting at Palazzo Medici Riccardi. He had held the role in an acting capacity since November 2025. Discussion addressed reform of provincial authorities, financial stability and the conclusion of the PNRR investment phase. Limatola argues that the Delrio reform left an incomplete structure and calls for structured talks between the region, government and local authorities. Proposals include a permanent forum involving the region, UPI and ANCI. The statement reports a political position of the provincial association, not the approval of a new law or a completed transfer of responsibilities.
