Festa Maremmana: Confesercenti challenges duration and gap between events as council confirms exception

In Bagno di Gavorrano, the debate concerns eleven days and advance event planning.

Eleven days rather than the ordinary limit of ten, and an allegedly insufficient gap between two events: these are the objections raised by Confesercenti Grosseto about the Festa Maremmana at Bagno di Gavorrano’s Casa del popolo. In its statement of 29 July 2026, the association reports that the council exceptionally confirmed the eleven days, citing the organisers’ legitimate expectations and the event’s imminence, with a commitment to consultation in future. The objection over the gap remains: with the previous festival ending on 3 August and the next beginning on 6 August, Confesercenti says only two days remain clear rather than three. Sandro Signori therefore proposes a schedule from 7 to 16 August and requests consultation before resolutions are adopted. The association also recognises festivals’ social and cultural value. The source documents an administrative dispute, including the council’s reply as reported by Confesercenti: it is neither a penalty nor a finding of illicit profits.
