Albegna festival checks: 44 wild boar half-carcasses seized
Forestry officers and health inspectors act on storage and traceability. Reports do not identify the event.
Checks on kitchens, cold stores and a cutting facility led to the administrative seizure of 44 wild boar half-carcasses, other frozen meat and two cold rooms in the Colline dell’Albegna area. Il Giunco and Il Tirreno reported this on 8 September 2025, describing the operation by Orbetello’s Carabinieri forestry officers and local health authority veterinary inspectors. According to the reports, they found hygiene shortcomings, missing traceability and cold rooms without health registration; one was in an annexe to a private home. Health staff also imposed corrective requirements. The sources consulted do not name the festival: the case is therefore not attributed to events identified through speculation. Further investigations were reported at publication. This is an archive report about administrative measures, rather than a conviction or proof of food contamination. The reports cited here do not give the subsequent findings of those checks.
