New committee for Tuscany’s inland and smaller communities

Depopulation, services, mobility and environmental vulnerability are central. Approval comes with 31 votes in favour.

The Regional Council has established a committee to promote Toscana diffusa and support inland, mountain and island areas. The vote recorded 31 in favour and the sole opposing vote of Marco Stella of Forza Italia. The body will examine depopulation, weak essential services, accessibility, infrastructure and environmental vulnerability, developing proposals for the executive. An interim report is expected within thirty months of its establishment and a final report by the end of the council term. Matteo Zoppini of Fratelli d’Italia explained his support by expressing hope for cooperation and practical solutions for the most vulnerable areas.
