Vehicle tax compensation dispute: Giani and Minucci read the figures differently

The president projects an €85 million shortfall; Fratelli d’Italia disputes the calculation.

Vehicle tax exemptions have entered the debate on Tuscany’s budget. Answering a question from Luca Minucci and Chiara La Porta, President Eugenio Giani projected an €85 million loss for the Region, also referring to cash-flow effects in the first months of the year. Minucci challenged the calculation, particularly the assumption that national compensation would be divided into equal shares among twenty regions. The figures are therefore conflicting assessments presented in the chamber, rather than an agreed balance. The record links the discussion to conversion of the national decree into law and the funding provided for 2027.
