Siena structural plan prompts council debate on participation
The deputy mayor announces a dedicated meeting; the Democratic Party seeks greater involvement.
The progress of Siena’s structural plan was the subject of a question from Democratic Party councillor Alessandro Masi at the meeting on 29 October. Deputy mayor Michele Capitani referred to committee work and announced a dedicated full council meeting. Masi considered the response unsatisfactory and pressed for a preliminary plenary discussion. Both positions are reported in the council statement. The political question is how fully councillors are involved before decisions about the city’s long-term transformation are taken.
