Forno: €130,000 agreement to restore the Casa socialista

The money is for the roof and the hall of the League of marble hauliers and quarry workers.

The Region has approved an agreement with Massa council allocating €130,000 to Forno’s Casa socialista. The contribution, already provided for in June’s budget amendment, will fund improvements to the roof and the hall of the Lega dei lizzatori e dei cavatori, which has structural problems and water infiltration. Toscana Notizie describes the building as a place of working-class memory and community life in the mountain village. Following the regional executive’s approval, the agreement must still be signed. The news therefore concerns implementation of restoration funding, without anticipating the reopening of the premises or completion of the works.
