Pistoia’s cultural discussions focus on the Manzoni theatre and archives
A regional visit centres on theatre works and preserving the city’s memory.
The Teatro Manzoni and the city’s archives were central to regional culture councillor Cristina Manetti’s visit to Pistoia. According to Toscana Notizie, the Region is contributing €2.5 million to the theatre’s restoration, with work announced to begin on 2 November. Discussions with mayor Giovanni Capecchi and councillor Marica Setaro also raised the possibility of a space bringing together and showcasing the area’s archives. Digitisation and access to collections are among the stated objectives. The visit took in the library, Palazzo Fabroni and Fondazione Caript.
