Florence–Rome: Tuscany and Umbria prepare joint demands on rail services

Intercity trains, high-speed stops and intermediate stations feature in talks between the Regions.

A joint platform to present to the Government and rail operators is the announced result of discussions between councillors Filippo Boni and Francesco De Rebotti on Florence–Rome connections. The regional statement identifies stronger Intercity services and provision at Orvieto, Chiusi and Terontola as priorities, alongside possible high-speed stops at Chiusi, Arezzo or Orvieto. The two Regions intend to involve municipalities in developing proposals, building on the Patto di Chiusi process. These are objectives for negotiation, rather than new stops or rail services already authorised.
