Siena council has a new member. On 23 July, all 25 councillors present unanimously confirmed Maria Concetta Raponi’s replacement of Francesco Mastromartino following his resignation. According to the council account, the new councillor joins the Lega Salvini Premier group. The decision records checks on the legal requirements governing candidacy, eligibility and compatibility. Its account of the procedure also refers to the withdrawal of the candidate ahead of Raponi on the list. The resolution therefore formalises her entry into the city assembly, retaining the connection with the electoral list and political group involved.
