Poggibonsi–Siena railway: Masi questions the executive and Cardini challenges the Region

The council debate concerns commitments to improve connections with Florence.

The Poggibonsi–Siena rail connection returned to Siena council through a question from Democratic Party councillor Alessandro Masi. At the 6 October meeting, councillor Fiamma Cardini responded on initiatives following the motion approved on 30 April. According to the council’s account, she reported discussions with the Ministry about infrastructure funding and with the Region, whose transport priorities she criticised politically. The administrative issue remains improving journey times and the efficiency of links to Florence. The account documents the questions and the executive’s response, without announcing funding already definitively allocated or works under way.
