Grosseto planning debate turns to disused buildings and sites

The final themed meeting addresses redundant sites, large empty buildings and housing in the historic centre.

Grosseto’s consultation on its municipal operational plan devotes the meeting announced for 26 October to urban regeneration. The agenda includes bringing unused complexes back into use, transforming strategic sites and creating conditions for residents and services to return within the city walls. The council reiterates the structural plan’s preference for reusing existing buildings rather than developing more land. The meetings’ findings are intended to feed into a public report and documents sent to the planners. Priorities, timescales and the tools available remain central questions.
