Neighbourhood shops and services: unanimous motion backs popular bill

Thirty-three votes support the motion signed by Barnini and La Porta.

The Regional Council has unanimously supported the popular legislative proposal on urban regeneration through local shops and neighbourhood services. The motion, presented by Brenda Barnini of the Partito Democratico and also signed by Chiara La Porta of Fratelli d’Italia, received 33 votes in favour. It cites continuity of services for residents, resistance to the decline of local retail and protection of the neighbourhood network. Signature collection for the proposal promoted by Confesercenti was still under way. The vote therefore concerns a motion of support, rather than passage of the proposed law.
