Pierburg: openness to new lines, but industrial plan still needs scrutiny

Following the Mimit meeting, the Region remains cautious about the Livorno plant’s future.

At the national Pierburg talks, willingness was expressed to transfer some production of electric-vehicle components to Livorno. Toscana Notizie reports on the Mimit meeting with Rheinmetall and the Aequita fund, identified as the prospective buyer of the business division. Regional adviser Valerio Fabiani sees this as an opening but calls for investment and a precise industrial plan. The dispute concerns Livorno, Lanciano and Turin, with around 450 employees in total. The Region says it is willing to support training. Discussions are adjourned to 30 November: the production transfer is not presented as final.
